Sketch items from around the house. Short 30 minutes or less contour line drawing.
Do some longer studies using shading to add dimension and depth
Sketch larger objects, focusing on proportion.
Go out in the fresh air and sketch some trees. Experiment with different media.
Food is another excellent source for sketching. Who knew macaroni and cheerios could be so interesting!? Experiment with different media, pencil, acrylic, colored pencil.
Quick 30 second or one minute gesture drawings are excellent exercises in observation and drawing. I did these during my son's gymnastics class.
Another classic subject matter is the portrait of others and yourself.
Always remember, Practice makes perfect. And Patience, Patience, Patience.

These are wonderful! I keep saying that I will try and make time to do some art every day - such a great practice to get into - but I never seem to be able to get past 3 days! One day...!

Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!
I am always amazed at people who can draw. I can "craft" things, but when it comes to the artistic side of things I really fall flat *L* I love the sketch of the washing machine especially =)
What exquisite talent you have! Thank you so much for stopping by our blog today and visiting our party!

I just wanted you to know that I belly laughed at your comment of "It is a little sad that he inhaled Alice." If the aliens are watching, they think I am a strange creature...all alone in a room, staring at a computer, and then suddenly, out loud, a huge laugh.
Have a great day!
Now, that's some talent. Good for you keeping your skills sharp!
You are an amazing artist! Thank you for stopping by my blog last week and for mentioning me in your post!
god I wish I could find more time for sketching - I get drowned out in business and internships that I just don't!
isn't it just SO relaxing? :)
